Saffron

December 26, 1994 – May 28, 2009

Saffron was a quite a character but more than anything she loved people. She was an enthusiastic therapy dog and had a great time visiting folks until she died from bone cancer at 14 1/2. Always remembered and missed ~ Lynn

Reenie
Reenie went to Rainbow Bridge Nov 28, 2010, after several months of being ill with cancer.  She worked with PATS for many years, particularly loving to work with children and on behalf of PATS, taught dog safety at SPCA kids camp in the summer.  Her last working place was Glenwarren, where her happy face brought smiles wherever she went.  She will be missed forever. ~ Ruth

Bridie

1997- 2011

Bridie (Cairn Terrier) and I volunteered for PATS from 2000-2005. We visited the Shelmarie Home, Craigdarrock Manor and The SunRise Home. When I put her scarf on she knew where she was going. Bridie put her heart and soul in greeting people and making them happy. She was fun to be with and liked to be included in everything going on. We will cherish our time that we had with wee Bridie. ~Sincerely, The Knights

Teddy Lovejoy

January 1997 – July 10, 2011

“Friendliest Dog in Fairfield Award” – 2001
We said good bye to Teddy today in the sunshine of our yard. He was such a sweet loving soul and will be missed by so many dog and human friends who were touched by his gentle nature.
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” – Anatole France”We who surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Yet we would live no other way, and cherish memory as the only certain immortality.” – Irving Townsend

Casey

October 25, 1999 – June 12, 2012

Casey was always happy, always loving, always on the go, always entirely her own girl. Funny, silly, exuberant, bubbling over with joy. She did indeed give so much of herself to so many; it was her way of being. She had a lot to teach us.  ~written by Pattie for the loss of Sheila’s dear Wheaton Terrier

RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.  Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together. (Author unknown).
