COVID-19 Safety Plan

Pacific Animal Therapy Society is committed to keeping our volunteers and clients safe from COVID-19 and other communicable diseases. This plan has been informed by orders, guidance, and notices issued by B.C.’s provincial health officer, the Ministry of Health and the BC Centre for Disease Control.

When visiting, PATS Pet Therapy Teams will

  • Be fully immunized against COVID-19.
  • Carry alcohol-based hand sanitizer, to be used before and after visits and between visits with each person in a group setting.
  • Closely follow all additional safety protocols in place at the site of their visit, including for mask-wearing.

PATS works with populations that are at higher risk of serious illness. Pet Therapy Teams will not attend visits if they have had any symptoms of communicable disease within the past 14 days. We appreciate your understanding if a visit must be cancelled for this reason.

The PATS Board of Directors will monitor risks and update this plan as needed.
